Enchanting in WoW Forever: leveling route and where the gold is

Enchanting has never been a profession you level for a profit. You level it to be the person who can do the thing nobody else can. Forever adds a few new things only you can do, and one of them is a whole new enchant slot.

A warning before you start: the route in our data has more holes than any other profession. Treat this page as a map with a few missing roads, not turn-by-turn directions.

What's new in Forever

63 of 261 recipes are new. The one I care about is necklace enchants: five of them at 195, including Agility, Deflection, Healing Power and Spell Power. A new slot means new demand from every raider at once.

You also get 14 relics (idols and librams for druids and paladins), new wands and staves, and superior bracer and two-hander enchants up near 290.

Your camp line is the Enchanted Lute at 17, a group armor and stat buff. Then the Arcane Salvager at 137 makes disenchanting more efficient, and the Arcane Forge at 300 is a crafting station. That Salvager is going to matter to anyone who disenchants in bulk.

Shopping list

Essences and dust make up most of this list, as they always have. Disenchanting your own quest greens covers a good chunk of it. Note the 111 Simple Wood: the early wands want a stick each.

Skill route

Wands carry you from 45 to 215, which is nice, because wands are something people actually use. The data skips 1–2, 12–17, 22–45, 240–243 and everything past 255. Fill the low gaps with the cheapest enchants you have, and expect to improvise near the top.

Making gold while you level

Sell the wands you make. Lesser and Greater Magic Wands, then the Mystic ones, are exactly what casters want while leveling. You're making 195 of them on this route; don't vendor them.

Necklace enchants at 195 are the launch-month play. Nobody has them yet. Get there early, put a note in trade chat, and charge for your time and your mats.

Disenchanting is a business. With an Arcane Salvager at camp you can buy cheap greens off the AH, break them, and sell the dust and essences to every other enchanter climbing the same route.
