Tailoring in WoW Forever: leveling route and where the gold is

Tailoring is the cloth-wearer's profession and the bag-maker's business. Forever adds 180 recipes and a camp line built around a Faction Banner. The route in our data also has three steps that use items Forever doesn't seem to have, so read the route section before you buy anything.

What's new in Forever

Shoes (30), belts and gloves (27 each) and leggings (20) lead the new recipes. Highlights include the Stormsewn and Ghostweave hoods, Earthenweave gear, Robes of Fiery Devastation, and Red and Green Winter Clothes. There's a Conviction, Demonheart and Manaflare block at 313 that's clearly later content.

Your camp line is the Faction Banner at 17, a Spirit buff for your faction that doesn't stack with Divine Spirit. Then a Spinning Wheel at 137 that makes reagents, and a Loom at 300.

Shopping list

Runecloth bolts dominate the end, and Felcloth and Mooncloth show up late. Mats for the three suspect steps are left off this list.

Skill route

Bags and bolts to 37, linen belts and woolen capes to 97. Then Extraplanar Spidersilk Boots from 124 to 167, which is flagged: they need an item that isn't in Forever's data. Mageweave shirts, robes and gloves carry you to 210, and runecloth belts to 240.

Shoulderpads of the Deranged (243–255) and Glacial Wrists (293–300) are flagged for the same reason. The data also skips 240–243 and 255–263.

Making gold while you level

Bags are the oldest tailoring business there is. Everyone needs them, and new players need four at once. Linen bags are right at the start of the route.

Bolts sell to other tailors. You're making bolts of linen, wool and silk on the way up anyway. Sell your extras to people who don't want to click 36 times.

Banners make you welcome at camp. A Spirit buff for your whole faction is a nice reason to be invited along.
